ORA 5 Breaks Cover in China GWM’s Next-Gen Electric SUV

Great Wall Motors has officially pulled the wraps off the ORA 5, a compact electric SUV. This marks a new chapter for ORA, with styling, tech, and positioning aimed squarely at a global audience.



Dimensions & Exterior

The ORA 5 measures 4,471 mm long, 1,833 mm wide, 1,641 mm tall, riding on a 2,720 mm wheelbase. Styling highlights include a closed front fascia, large round headlights, and curves that carry ORA’s signature design language. Customers will be able to choose from six exterior colors: Aurora Green, Senna Gray, Sayram Lake Blue, Cliff White, Sand Dune Beige, and Linzhi Red.

It rolls on 18 inch dual tone wheels, paired with 225/60 R18 tires.

Interior & Tech

Inside, the ORA 5 offers three interior themes, Dawn White, Noon Brown, and Midnight Grey. The dashboard combines a floating digital instrument cluster with a central touchscreen, both running GWM’s Coffee OS 3. The system integrates Coffee GPT and DeepSeek, bringing AI powered features to the cockpit.

Other confirmed features include a panoramic glass roof, 64 color ambient lighting, wireless charging, fold flat rear seats, and multiple storage compartments.

Driver Assistance

The ORA 5 debuts with roof mounted LiDAR and a full suite of cameras (front, side, and rear). Together with GWM’s Coffee Pilot Ultra, the system supports Navigation on Autopilot (NOA) for both highways and city driving.



Powertrain

Under the skin, the ORA 5 is equipped with a 150 kW electric motor. The battery is supplied by SVOLT using LFP chemistry, though capacity and driving range figures have not yet been officially confirmed.

Global Intent

With its clean design, advanced driver assistance, and international naming strategy, the ORA 5 is aimed beyond China. It’s positioned to expand ORA’s reach into new markets while reinforcing Great Wall Motor’s ambition to make ORA a recognisable EV brand worldwide.
