Introducing the Tank 300 Hooke Edition - For the True Offroad Fan

Unveiled at the 2025 Shanghai Auto Show, the Tank 300 Hooke Edition is set to capture the attention of serious off-road enthusiasts — and for good reason.

The Hooke Edition introduces a major mechanical upgrade over the standard range of Tank 300s, a solid front axle paired with a front panhard rod.

This setup brings traditional off-road advantages, offering greater durability, improved articulation, and superior grip in rough terrain. It also simplifies future modifications, compared to the more complex nature of independent front suspension systems.

Of course, solid axles come with trade-offs — namely a firmer ride quality on-road, particularly noticeable at highway speeds in a short-wheelbase platform like the Tank 300.

For now, GWM has categorised the Hooke Edition as "still in testing", but it’s expected to become available to Chinese customers soon. No word yet on international availability — but this could be a serious game-changer if it reaches our shores.
