GWM Secures New Patents Covering Major Vehicle Technology Advancements

April 26, 2025 — GWM has today officially secured a series of significant new patents from the China National Intellectual Property Administration, marking a major step forward in vehicle technology innovation. While some of these technologies were first submitted for review as early as 2021, they have now been formally approved, setting the stage for real-world application across GWM’s future models.

The newly patented systems span across multiple areas, each designed to improve driving safety, comfort, and performance:

  • Smarter Collision Detection: GWM’s new method verifies crash signals by cross-checking both electronic and hard-wired data, reducing the risk of false alarms and unnecessary safety system activations.

  • Global UI Translation Through AI: A revolutionary AI-driven system can automatically translate and adjust vehicle screen content based on the export region, eliminating the need for manual language updates and allowing for a single universal software release.

  • Advanced Real-Time Power Distribution for EVs: GWM’s EV control system dynamically adjusts the power split between front and rear motors based on torque, speed, and efficiency, improving driving performance beyond traditional EV setups.

  • Smarter Cabin Air Recirculation: A redesigned air conditioning system selectively reuses cleaner, already-filtered cabin air, improving cooling efficiency and extending filter life without the need for active air quality sensors.

  • Personalized AC Comfort Based on Body Data: Using body size, posture, and temperature information, a smart algorithm automatically fine-tunes air conditioning settings, offering truly personalized climate control for occupants.

  • More Accurate Battery Management: A new system calculates a more precise state-of-charge (SOC) reading for vehicles with multiple parallel battery packs, optimizing charging performance and avoiding early shutdowns.

  • AI-Enhanced Camera Calibration: GWM’s latest method uses AI to calibrate vehicle cameras more precisely, ensuring better performance for features like 360° view, lane-keeping assist, and parking systems.

  • Faster, Smarter In-Car Web Loading: A network-aware content delivery system now tests internet speeds in real-time and selects the best media file version before loading, reducing in-car browsing delays.

  • Improved Speed Limit Control: GWM has also patented a more refined method for speed limiting by resetting and managing torque output to prevent vehicle overshooting, resulting in smoother and safer speed transitions.

These technologies highlight GWM’s long-term strategy to integrate AI, smarter sensors, and advanced software logic into everyday vehicle systems — all aimed at delivering a more refined, intelligent driving experience for their customers worldwide.

With these patents now secured, attention will turn to how quickly GWM can roll out these innovations across their current and next-generation vehicles.
