Yep, you read that right. GWM, the same brand behind the Cannon, Tank and Haval lineup, has just teased what looks like China’s first proper entry into the supercar world. And this time, it’s not a soft EV or some concept vaporware. This is the real deal.
At the heart of it all is a rear mounted 4.0L V8 hybrid powertrain. That’s right, the same one that was teased at the 2025 Shanghai auto show. While the rest of the world is chasing full electric, GWM is combining good old-fashioned combustion with modern hybrid punch.
GWM released a shadowy preview of a low slung, mid engine supercar silhouette. Long tail. Aggressive front. Thin blade lighting.
Forbidden Gearhouse had already hinted that GWM’s new V8 would first appear in something bigger than a Tank and yes, we pointed straight at GWMs 'yet to be released' supercar program. The automotive world, including so-called experts, argued with us directly, insisting we were wrong.
Now it’s confirmed. And we’re not even a little surprised.
