GWM 2.4L Diesel DPF Pressure Sensor

Don’t get caught out by the dreaded faulty DPF pressure sensor on GWM 2.4L diesel engines. Keep a spare in the vehicle at all times! (suitable for the entire range of the 2.4L engine - Tank 300, Alpha, Cannon)

How to check that your sensor has failed? Your dash will display a fault stating - PARTICULATE FILTER IS SERIOUSLY BLOCKED. HAVE IT CHECKED.

These are genuine OEM sensors, supplied directly from the manufacturer, ideal to keep as a spare. With current wait times of up to 12 weeks for replacement parts, a failed sensor can leave your vehicle restricted to limp mode or un-drive able in the meantime.

These sensors are for a back up only. Do not replace your current sensor if it has not yet faulted.

Installation is straightforward: remove a single 8 mm bolt and two hose clamps, then fit the new sensor—quick and easy. Pictures to come soon of the steps for installation.

The only potential complication is resetting the DPF values. Why do we say potential? In some cases, simply installing the new sensor and disconnecting the battery for 20–30 minutes is enough to get you back on the road. If that doesn’t work, a DPF reset using a scan tool will be required.

Even so, having one of these sensors on hand is a smart move. If the original sensor fails, you can install the replacement and contact GWM Roadside Assist, who can perform the scan tool reset for you.
